NEW CAUCUS SWEEPS ELECTION:
(Posted 5/21/09) The New
Caucus won a convincing victory across the board in the April
PSCcuny elections. Results are
now official, having been certified by the PSC election committee
on Thursday, May 14. The terms of elected candidates begin
on Monday, June 1.
Below is a summary of
university-wide results for PSC president -- and at the constituent levels, for
PSC president and for vice president of the constituency. Full --

Bill Friedheim,
New Caucus (817 votes), and Eileen Moran, New Caucus
(821 votes), were elected retiree representatives to the
Executive Council with over 62% of the retiree vote.
Part-timers were elected by the entire electorate, with
Marcia Newfield winning 61.4% of the vote in
the race for VP for Part-time Personnel.
In a separate election for AAUP delegates, the New
Caucus won overwhelmingly (e.g. Barbara Bowen
received 518 votes or 74% to Fred Brodzinski's 182 or
26%)
*Weighted votes
(retirees): As stipulated by the PSC constitution,
retiree votes cannot be calculated as more than 10% of
the total vote. As a result, each retiree vote (except
votes cast for retiree representatives) was weighted at
.485 (of a whole vote).
